finding philosophy boring?

so I love philosophy and love debating, but this is the bit of it I don't find interesting we have to read platonian and socratic text that is driving me nuts! it's not practical at all. you're not reading theory that you can apply! no, all this is is reading people talking to each other. how do you deal with more uninteresting courses like this? anyone has advice?

Just get through it and pass so you don't have to take it again. That's about the only advice I can think of.

That's what philosophy is... people talking to each other. Also, It is, in fact, theoretical, as Plato talks to Socrates in order to lay out philosophical theories. The ancient greeks laid down the basis for modern thought. We owe almost everything western civilization has to offer to the ancient greeks.
